Friday 26th

Registration and Welcome Reception in

'The Hub at St Mary's'

in the Market Square.

Guests were met with a traditional dance group as they arrived.  The Sheriff of Lichfield, the Rev Ian Hayter gave a very educational  welcome speech

Sadly, the event was cut short by an unplanned fire alarm.  The emergency evacuation was slow, to say the least, and it was interesting to see which items people believed to be worth saving.  Glasses of wine featured prominently!

Highly entertaining and informative Lesley Smith graciously performed her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth I.  Not only is she an extremely talented actress and performer, Lesley Smith is a medical historian holding an MPhil in Tudor medicine, a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland, and also a Member of the Society of Medical Writers.  Everyone was spellbound by her talent and the authenticity and detail of her attire.
