Saturday Afternoon

 


Please Note:  The cost of tours are included in the price of the Conference weekend. 

Depart by bus for Guided Tours at 12.45:

Choose between:  

 

1) St David’s City. This small but beautiful Cathedral City gained city status in 11th century.  The Cathedral is the resting place of St David, patron saint of Wales. 

Travel time around 35/40 mins.

Return to County Hall circa 4.30 pm

2) Pembroke Castle. Started in the late 11th century Pembroke is the only castle in Britain to be built over a large natural cavern, known as the Wogan. Henry Tudor who inaugurated the Tudor line was born there in 1457.  During the civil war the castle was attacked by both Royalist and Roundheads including an attacking force led by Cromwell himself.

Travel time around 25-30 mins.  Return to County Hall circa 4.30 pm
